Tri-City Electrical Contractors to Build 400,000-SF Support Center in Orlando

The Central Florida commercial division of Tri-City Electrical Contractors Inc. is under way on $8 million of work at Darden Restaurants’ new 400,000-square-foot LEED-certified Support Center as well as 16,284-square-foot LEED-certified Data Center, both located on Taft-Vineland Road in Orlando, Fla., under its contract with Hardin Construction.
Hilton Orlando Hotel Hits Construction Milestone

Hilton Hotels Corporation has celebrated a new milestone in the construction of the Hilton Orlando with a topping off ceremony. The 19-story building broke ground in May of 2007 and is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2009. The hotel, connected to the Orange County/Orlando Convention Center, will increase the convention center’s size and will add 1,400 hotel rooms for guests.

Nemours has finalized the acquisition of 60 acres of land in the heart of Lake Nona's medical city in Orlando, and plans to build a $400 million top-tier pediatric health care facility, anchored by a children's hospital. The pediatric health system company tapped Skanska USA Building Co. as the construction manager to oversee the building process for the facilities.
