Columbia Sportswear to Redevelop Seattle Block

Columbia Sportswear Co. has announced plans to redevelop a block of real estate in downtown Seattle, Wash., for the opening of two side-by-side Columbia and Mountain Hardwear-branded retail stores. Swinerton Builders will construct the property on behalf of 2 Hemispheres and Bergmeyer Associates Inc. are on board to oversee the design of the project, which will adhere to LEED certification standards. Development of the stores, scheduled to debut late this fall, are part of Columbia Sportswear's corporate strategy of expanding its branded stores in key U.S. and European metropolitan markets by 15 to 20 sites over the next three to five years.
