Several developers have eyes for a five-acre tract of land that the Children's Hospital of Michigan is hoping to purchase for use as a parking lot adjacent to its planned $34 million outpatient pediatric center. The attorney for Detroit Medical Center, which is the parent company of Children's, told Crain's Detroit Business that the $900,000 purchase agreement must still be green-lighted by the City Council.
"We knew (the city) had been in discussion with at least one other developer," Floyd Allen told Crain's. "The city ... feels the Children's project is the better project."
